Money Can Take The Luster Out Of Life

Do you ever feel like money takes the luster out of life?

Money is something people really don’t like to talk about, but we all want money.

We have to get to a point where we get comfortable talking about it and figure out
how we can deal with it and not let it suck the life out of us.

When you’re stressed about money, it shows on your face, it shows up in the
conversations that you have.

Don’t give all of your good energy to stressing over money.

There are things that you can do to alleviate a lot of that stress, like prepare, take
the time to figure out how much money you can set aside every month to use as backup.

episode #021 – Incorporating Fashion and Finance

Incorporating Fashion & Finance

I want to send out the Aloha Spirit to all of you.  I hope you get a lot
of value out of this podcast.

I wanted to let all of you listening know that I didn’t forget about you.
I’ve been working on incorporating fashion, style and clothing fit into
fashionable finance.

So far I’ve only been talking about is how to deal with you finances
and to have JOY at the same time, while letting women know that it’s
OK to talk about money and ask for help.

I also love to share and teach on the topics that can help you  improve
your life, because I
always want to inspire and help women and moms
who are really busy and to have them be able to learn on the go.

Sometimes it seems like that’s the only way we can get things accomplished
and learn

Helping women has always been really important to me my entire
adult life.  I think about all of you listeners all the time and wonder
what I can share with you that will make a difference in your life.

I think about it constantly because I love to share.

It’s time now to incorporate the style, fashion and clothing fit into this
podcast and not only talk about finances and life.  There’s a lot more
to learn and experience.  I’m all about creating experiences for people.
It was definitely been the highlight of my day when I was teaching my
students how to sew and how to incorporate everyday items into the
realm of creating and sewing, and just being creative.  It’s so easy to
combine the two.

And that’s where the magic happens is when my students had these
experiences and they got excited when they could see what I was
trying to show and teach them.  That’s what I want for you.

It can be a really magical experience when you combine two things
or ideas that you would never think could go together, but some how
it just works beautifully.

That’s like combining or meshing fashion and finance, it sounds a bit
strange but it works.

I hope to be able to show you how it works as time goes by and you
are able to listen to the other episodes that I have planned and I want
create for you.

And by the way I don’t teach fashion that teaches you how to be
trendy, because trendy only works for a select few women, (and
let me emphasize few!) for the most part it doesn’t work well overall.

So don’t worry that I’m going to be teaching about crazy fashion
trends and ideas that wouldn’t work for you.  I’m a no nonsense
type of person.  I teach what works and what doesn’t.  I feel that’s
the best way to go.  I like to teach so that you can get the best out
of what works for you and your figure and lifestyle.

I just wanted to share that with you, I wanted you to know that I have
more podcast episodes coming your way and I hope you find it
interesting.  I’m going to see how it works – incorporating fashion and
finance.

Thanks again for, you being here and listening to this episode and
listening to me, I really appreciate it because there’s so many things
to do and life is busy and I’m thankful that you chose to listen to this
podcast.

I would love for you to send me a message, you can choose how you
want to send your message by email or voicemail, and let me know
what you think or what you’d like to hear, I really appreciate it!

If you enjoyed listening to this podcast, I would love for you to share
any of the podcast episodes with other people that you know who you
think would be able to benefit from the things that I’m sharing.

It really makes my day to know that I’m helping other people out and
I want so much to enrich their lives, to help them to grow and learn and
have a much more fulfilling life as well as those of you that are listening.

episode #008 – Ladies, Let’s Get Control Of Your Finances!

Aloha, have you ever wondered if your finances were controlling you?

In this episode, I talk about why you need to get control of
your finances, some of the ways in which to
do that and how you are affected by not having the
necessary control of money coming in and money
going out each month.

What women think about their finances:

  • It’s a humbug

  • they don’t like to manage it

  • they don’t like to think about it

  • deal with it

  • boring,

  • stresses them out

Your finances involves:

  • rent or mortgage

  • electric

  • water

  • cell phone

  • food

  • gas and more

You need to have a system in place:

  • need to write things down

  • get a notebook

  • take 15 minutes, write down all the bills you have

  • set up a system that works for you

  • set up bill paying to be deducted automatically from a checking account

Need to control what money you have:

  • have a strong desire to overcome and to get a system set up

  • if you need help, ask!

  • it’s good to have  support

Women want freedom:

  • to do the things we want to do

  • women like to have control

Finances do control you if you don’t have a system set up and don’t have a flow

This topic is not interesting to talk about, that’s why having a system setup can help you
feel at ease and not stress out about paying bills, because sometimes you may not be
sure if there’s enough money to pay your bills.

What about you?  Everything is connected:

  • take a good look at yourself, what do you see?

  • write down what’s going on in your life

  • how you’re feeling

  • be honest with yourself

To make sure you’re on track and to create a habit that will help you start controlling
things in the right way, you have to start somewhere.

Try this:

  • just take a few minutes everyday and write things down

  • take small steps

  • write down how much income is coming in each month

  • spend a few minutes everyday taking care of your finances

You can’t live without money:

  • everyday it takes money for us to live

  • everyday you’re spending money

It’s ok to talk about your finances, don’t be ashamed.  That’s why
my business name is fashionable finance, the word ‘fashionable’ is
meant to be used in a way that refers to your finances as being OK
to talk about it.

My goal is for you to learn all the things you need to learn on the go
because we’re all busy.

I hope you are enjoying listening to this podcast!

What Do You Need To Be Successful In Your Life And With Your Finances? – Part 3

What Do You Need To Be Successful In Your Life...-pt.3

I want to start of with a short recap of Part 1 and Part 2 of this article series.
In Part 1, I mentioned a little about women love pain, that they’re not taught
at a young age how to be successful.  In Part 2 I talked about lasting success
comes from the things that you value the most.  Asking yourself simple “how”
and “what” questions on a daily basis is the key to unlocking your success.

The reason that I say that asking yourself these questions is because we all
have success inside of us, we know what is going to make us happy, what’s
in our heart, what kind of things we want, what we don’t want, what we need
to change to make it happen, and, possibly who we need to ask for help to
attain the success that we want.

It can seem overwhelming and scary. You can only take one step at a time in
order to make things happen.  If there’s only one thing that you take away
from reading these articles is that – you are only one person!  You can only
do one thing at a time, it’s not possible to be in two places at the same time
and be helping everyone else but yourself. Continue reading

What Do You Need To Be Successful In Your Life And With Your Finances? – Part 2

What Do You Need To Be Successful In Your Life...-pt.2

In Part 1 of this article, I talked about how women love pain, they’re not taught
from a young age how to be successful in their personal life and how success
with finances is connected with success in their personal life.

I hope you had a chance to do the assignment that I talked about at the end of
the article.  It was the first step to take on the road to finding out what you need
to be successful in your life and with your finances.  I also mentioned that every-
one is different and because we’re all different, there are different keys to unlock
your success.

But, the first step of writing everything down on paper and getting it out of your
head is the first key to use, no matter who you are, where you come from and
what your circumstances were and are at this time; it works for everyone.

Now that you’ve written everything down (that was in your head) on paper, you
can now see what it is that is going on.  You might even see things that are the
things you love, want to do, want to see, want to have, want to feel and more.
The main thing is that you wrote it all down!

Let me ask you…are you surprised by what you wrote down on paper?  Are
you confused? Usually the things that are in your head are the things that
you think about on a regular basis.  Somewhere in there, there is your values
all mixed up with the other things that don’t really have a lot of value if you
really look at it…that’s why I always say to write everything down on paper-
that’s where the magic happens!

In order to have any kind of success in any area of your life, you have to know
what is going on in your head, what your values are and what you value the most.
True and lasting success that makes you happy is usually the things that you
value…a lot and the most.

We also keep our values in our heart without even realizing it.  What we hold
dear and value is connected to your heart as well as your mind, it’s never in just
one place.

To find out what you really need to have success in your life and with your finances,
ask yourself this question-What do you personally really need to be successful in
your life and with your finances at this time?
Only you can answer this question
because success means different things to different people.

The answers to these questions can usually be found in the things that you wrote
down, it may seem a little to simple but it is really simple, the things that you hold
in your heart is what your going to need to be successful.  You might have discovered
that how you’re living your life and the things that you’re doing may be contrary to
what you feel in your heart.

Asking simple but powerful questions will help you unlock the keys to your success.
Asking “how” and “what” questions on a daily basis is a great way to move you
forward.  Ask yourself questions like “how can I get to where I want to go with
(what you want)  ?” and/or “what do I need to do to have success with (what you
want to have success with)  ?

Practice asking yourself these questions everyday and pay attention to what you
come up with, you might find that an idea will pop into your mind or you might have
a conversation with someone and they might be able to help you.  You just never
know!  Keep your mind and heart open to the possibilities.

It may seem like all of this is a lot of work, but it’s not!  Once you start making this
a regular practice of writing things down and asking yourself questions daily will
make a big difference.  I want to encourage you to try this out for a week and see
what happens.

Stay tuned for Part 3 of this article coming soon.

What Do You Need To Be Successful In Your Life And With Your Finances?-Part1

What Do You Need To Be Successful In Your Life...-pt.1

What Do You Need To Be Successful In Your Life And With Your Finances?

Is that something that you think about?  Is it something that you even care about?
Life is going by so quickly that sometimes it may be hard to even take the time to think
about those questions.

This is what I’ve learned about having any kind of success in any area of life, and that
is that if you don’t plan and write things down on paper, then life is just going to drag
you along whatever course it wants to and that it’s usually not the course you really
want to be on.  It’s from past experience that I know this really well.  Boy, it really
can be trying.  It affects everything about you from your mental state, to affecting you
spiritually, physically and emotionally.

For some strange and crazy reason, women love to live in pain – all kinds of pain and
for long periods of time.   It might be that we can handle pain better then men! 😉

You know…It’s far and few between that women are taught how to be successful in
their own personal life.  These things need to be taught starting from when a woman
is young, even as early as pre-school.  In fact that’s the perfect age to start teaching
a little girl some of the things she’ll need to learn and understand because at that age,
she doesn’t know very much at all and is open to learning, is curious and can I say
very smart for her age.

Having success with your finances is all part of the learning process that needs to
happen at a young age as well.  It’s also connected with the successes you have
in your personal life, it may not seem like it’s connected but it is.

The fact is that we need money to live here on earth, there’s just no way around it.
So what do you do when you aren’t successful with your life and your finances?

With that said, what can you do about it now?  Obviously you have to start right
now where you are and go from here.  There’s no possible way of going back
and re-doing your childhood and adult years.  All is not lost!  There’s no better
time then now to learn the success habits that you will need to move forward.

There are many different keys to unlock your success.  Some work better then
others because were all different.  But there are a few basic keys that will help
everyone.

Do you want to know what some of the basic keys to unlock your success is?
I hope so, I want you to be successful in your life.

One thing that I say all the time is to ‘write things down on paper’, that’s where
the magic happens.  It’s funny how often women will say that they have all of
their goals, dreams, to-do list all in their head.  There’s just no possible way
that any of that stuff in your head will all happen in the way that you want
them to.

Write everything down on paper that is floating around in your head.
That is your assignment (if you want to call it that) for this week.
I will have part 2 of this article next week, so stay tuned for more.

Remember, write everything down and get it out of your head!

Aloha, Janin

Is Your Money Distracting You?

Your day can be very stressful with all kinds of distractions around you where ever
you go, things like: people talking, the television when it’s on, your computer,
your cell phone, and more.  It’s amazing that you can even get anything done
during the day!

Innovation is great because it give us so many great things to make our lives
better and a lot of fun.  But, what do you do when all of these great things
is distracting?

Another thing that is really distracting is money.  It can be for a lot of people.
Is your money distracting you?  Has it ever been distracting to you?

Here is a list of five questions to answer that will tell you if your money is
distracting or not:

1)  Do you think about how little your pay is at your job while you’re there and
you have a hard time completing you work?

2)  Everyday do you think about how in the world you’ll be able to pay for
you increased utility bill that month?

3)  Do you think about how you are going to pay all of your monthly bills and buy
food with the amount of income you bring home?

4)  Do you start to feel depressed when you think about how you want to buy
something nice for yourself but there is no money left after paying for all of
your bills each month?

5)  Do you look in your wallet and think about why you don’t have any cash or
very little cash and that thought stays with you all day and maybe for the
whole week or more?

If you’ve answered yes to at least two of these five questions, then I have to
tell you that your money is distracting you.  Money can be a lot more distracting
than anything else out there, because you need money to live there’s just no
way around it.

If you are being distracted and you don’t like it, I will tell you that the first thing
to do is acknowledge that it is happening and then make an internal decision
that you want to let go of this kind of unwanted distraction.

The next thing you can do is to have a plan for your money and get help from
someone that knows how to help you with making a plan to move forward and
away from money distractions.
